About the Position:

The Airfield Maintenance Associate helps keep Blue Grass Airport safe, clean, and in good working order. The position performs outdoor maintenance work on runways, taxiways, roads, parking areas, grounds, drainage, signs, markings, landscaping, and other assigned airfield areas.

This position also operates maintenance equipment, helps other Maintenance employees when needed, and supports Airport emergencies and special events. Snow and ice removal during severe and inclement weather is an essential part of the job and may require working evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the safe and proper use of common hand and power tools.
• Ability to learn and safely operate the vehicles and equipment used in the position.
• Ability to use computers and electronic systems needed for work orders, timekeeping, communication, employee self-service, and other assigned work.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work indoors and outdoors and in changing weather conditions.
• Ability to work well with coworkers and other stakeholders encountered while performing the job.

• Paid time off: Receive 24 hours of paid time off on your first paycheck, then earn 5.55 hours of PTO each biweekly pay period during your first year. PTO increases with years of service, and unused PTO can be carried forward.
• Family medical leave: In addition to paid time off, employees are given 8 hours of paid family medical leave time each month, which can accumulate to a maximum balance of 440 hours.
• Paid holidays: 9 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays.
