TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Lawrence is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented
Public Space Attendant (part-time) to join our team.
The
Public Space Attendant is responsible for the following:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel
- Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc. in public areas such as lobby, pool, and public restrooms
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, hallways and stairwells
- Spot cleaning walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc.
- Reporting maintenance problems or completing repair orders
- Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings
- Review and approve timecard weekly for accuracy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner with other associates, management, guests, vendors, suppliers, and other members of the general public conducting business with the property
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and demanding work environment
- Basic knowledge of hotel operations or ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work as a team player with all levels of associates
- Dedicated, hard-working, self-motivated
- Practice safety standards at all times
Special Requirements: - Prompt and regular attendance.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- Must be available a minimum of 16 hours per week
- Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, and overtime as required
- Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional behavior and appearance standards
- Carry out all reasonable requests by team leaders and managers and act as a team player with all levels of staff
